Although Ramon Keimig is interested in individual elements of applied design – such as prints and illustrative elements – his focus is on free expression and free gesture. An obviously great advantage of printmaking is its reproducibility, which is usually closer to everyday life than, for example, in large-format painting.

Keimig’s work is dedicated to the field of visual experimentation, sampling, and exploring the limits of the artist’s formal language. Through this formal process, Ramon Keimig negotiates personal positions with the world and his environment.

His artistic practice is a cycle of observation, processing and reflection. With his immediate approach, he is very concerned with the present and the meaning or quality of an image often only becomes clear in the process.
